National Certificates
Choose from our nationwide network of education sites and we will conduct an individually tailored training needs analysis and help you to enrol in a National Certificate that is right for you. You should talk to our staff for advice about which National Certificates are on offer at each of the facilities. We are able to offer the following National Certificates.
The skills and knowledge that are required for National Certificates are exactly what employers say they need. These qualifications are nationally recognised because Industry Training Organisations design them.
National Certificate in Retail (Level 3)
This is an intermediate level qualification for those working or intending to work in the retail industry. The holder of this qualification has skills and knowledge relating to staff, customers, products, communication, and administration in a retail environment.
National Certificate in Adult Education and Training (Level 4)
The National Certificate is a qualification for people delivering and/or assessing adult education and training. The qualification has been designed for people with diverse backgrounds and experience who are seeking a qualification in the adult education and training field.
National Certificate in Outdoor Recreation (Group Leadership) Level 3
This National Certificate recognises the foundation skills and knowledge required of general, multi-skilled group leaders working in the outdoors. Holders of this qualification have demonstrated competence in planning and leading outdoor activities with a group (including risk management, recognition of New Zealand weather conditions, outdoor leadership theory and processes, outdoor first aid, and communication skills).
National Certificate in Outdoor Recreation (Instruction) Level 5 - Adventure Based Learning
This National Certificate recognises the skills of a highly qualified and competent instructor in the outdoors in speciality areas. The holder of this qualification is able to provide the overall instruc- tion and management (which includes planning, navigation, recognition of weather conditions, administering first aid and communication skills) of an outdoor activity and is also able to provide instruction in their chosen area.
National Certificate in Snowsport (Level 4) - with strands in Workshop Technician and Boot fitting
The strands of this qualification recognise the skills and knowledge of the person specialising in: (a) the advanced repair of skis and/or snowboards; or (b) the selection, fitting, and adapting of boots for skiers and/or snowboarders.
