National Certificates in Diving

Progression through the National Certificates in Diving features:
- Study Full time or Part time
- Graduate as a Rescue Diver
- Progress to Divemaster
- Complete an Instructor Qualification

You will find our great team-learning environment combines academic learning with lots of discussion and practical participation.
These national qualifications developed for the diving industry by the Industry Training Organisation (Skills Active Aotearoa) are designed to guide the non diver safely through basic scuba diving, advanced scuba diving, specialties such as night diving, wreck diving, boat diving and search and recovery. As you progress through the national certificate pathway, you can also learn to facilitate adventure based learning activities.
On successful completion of your chosen qualification, you will have a high degree of scuba diving skills and emerge a competent and confident diver. Depending on the qualification you choose to study, you will receive the international rating of Rescue Diver, or progress to Divemaster and take the opportunity to complete an Instructor qualification, provided all requirements are met.
As a graduate, you may choose to either continue tertiary studies, or utilise your newly-acquired skills and work within the dive and outdoor recreation industry. - No previous diving experience necessary.
- Students must obtain a diving medical prior to course commencement.
- Some personal equipment may be required.
