New Zealand Certificates in Diving

The Academy of Diving Trust has approval from the Tertiary Education Commission and accreditation from NZQA to offer and assess the full range of New Zealand Certificates in Diving.   • New Zealand Certificate in Diving (Level 3)
  • New Zealand Certificate in Diving (Supervision) (Level 4) with optional strand in Dive Vessel Operations

Progression through the New Zealand Certificates in Diving features:

  • Study Full time or Part time
  • Graduate as a Rescue Diver
  • Progress to Divemaster
  • Complete the optional strand in Dive Vessel Operations

These New Zealand qualifications developed for the diving industry by the Industry Training Organisation (Skills Active Aotearoa) are designed to guide the non-diver safely through basic scuba diving, advanced scuba diving, specialties such as night diving, wreck diving, boat diving and search and recovery.

On successful completion of your chosen qualification, you will have a high degree of scuba diving skills and emerge a competent and confident diver. Graduates of the Dive Vessel Operations strand will also be able to perform all roles and responsibilities of a crew member to the master during dive vessel operations.

Depending on the qualification you choose to study, you will receive the international rating of PADI Rescue Diver and be awarded the New Zealand Certificate in Diving (Level 3), or progress to PADI Divemaster, and be awarded New Zealand Certificate in Diving (Supervision) provided all requirements are met.

As a graduate, you may choose to either continue tertiary studies, or utilise your newly-acquired skills and work within the dive and outdoor recreation industry.
